Dr. Waseem Shahzad has research interests in the fields of Data Mining, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Theory of Computation . He has several research publications in these areas.

Dr. Hasan Mujtaba joined NUCES in 2010 as a faculty member. He did his Post Doctorate from University of Nottingham (2013) and was associated ASAP Research Group. His research interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery, Evolutionary Gaming, Machine Vision & Robotics. He is actively involved in research in these areas and has several publications to his name.

Dr. M. Arshad Islam  joined NUCES, Islamabad in January 2019 as an Associate Professor. Previously, he has been working at Capital University of Science and Technology and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Engineering as an Assistant Professor. His areas of interest are Opportunistic Networks, Social Network Analysis, Research Trend Analysis, Temporal Information Retrieval, and Web Privacy.      

Dr. Ahmad Din is an Associate Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, FAST-NUCES, Islamabad. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. He has completed his post-doctorate as a Fulbright Scholar from the University of Georgia (UGA), USA. He has more than 18 years of experience in academics and research. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Swarms, Reinforcement Learning, Collective Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Learning, Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems, Social Internet of Things (SIoT), and Multiagent Systems / Multi-robot Systems.

Dr. Hammad Majeed is  teaching at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences as an Associate  professor. He has research interests in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery, Evolutionary Gaming, Machine Vision & Robotics. He is actively invovled in research in these areas.

Dr Muhammad Asif Naeem is a Professor in Department of Computer Science, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences. He is Director ORIC, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences. He is a founder of Data Science Research Group (DSRG) at Auckland University of Technology and Co-Director of Intelligent Knowledge Mining and Analytics (IKMA) Lab at National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences. Before that he has served as a Senior Lecturer in School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and Associate Professor in NCBA&E. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from The University of Auckland and has been awarded a best PhD thesis of the year. Before that he has recieved his Master’s degree in Computer Science with distinction. He has about eighteen years research, industrial and teaching experience. As an outcome of his research, he published one book and more than 90 peer reviewed journals, conferences and workshops papers including in IEEE, ACM, Elsevier, and Springer. His recent research has been published in Information Systems (ranked A* in Computing Research and Education Association CORE), ICDM 2020 (ranked A* in CORE), and in Expert Systems with Applications (Q1 in Scimago Journal Ranking SJR). He has received a number of funding grants including international grants like Callaghan Innovation Fund (CIF) and Strategic Research Innovation Fund (SRIF). He have been finalised for the Vice Chancellor Emerging Research Award twice. He has received the Faculty Best Teaching and Emerging Researcher Awards. He has been invited as a keynote speaker to a number of conferences in his area. He is an Associate Editor in IEEE Access Journal. He is organising an IEEE workshop IWDS since 2013. He have been reviewing for well-known journals and conferences in his area. His research interests include Data Science, Big Data Management, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Active Databases and Data Warehousing.

Mirza Omer Beg is currently appointed as an Associate Professor and Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Islamabad, where he leads the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Group. He received PhD from the University of Waterloo where he was part of the Artificial intelligence Group. His research work at Waterloo combined compiler optimization, design, constraint programming, and graph-theoretic analysis. Prior to that he was also a member of Networks and Distributed Systems Group and completed his undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin. His current research interests are in Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Social Network Analysis, Green Computing, and Machine Learning.

Dr. Akhtar Jamil is an Assistant Professor in FAST School of Computing. Before joining FAST, he served as Assistant Professor and Vice Head of the Department in Computer Engineering Department at Sabahattin Zaim University, Istanbul, Turkey. He also served as Lecture in COMSATS University Islamabad. He has also worked in the industry as developer for several years. He received his PhD from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in the field of remote sensing. He has published more than 50 high quality papers in well-known journals and top conferences. He received fully funded PhD scholar from Turkish Government. He also received merit scholarship during his bachelors program. He is the found member of the ICMI and ICAETA conferences. He is reviewer for several journals and conferences. He focuses on applied research for solving real-world problems. His current research interests include statistical machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, Data Analytics, image classification, and remote sensing.

Dr. Ejaz Ahmed is serving as an Associate Professor in Computer Science Department FAST-NUCES Islamabad. Prior to re-joining he was serving as a Dean and Professor, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) at Qarshi University Lahore. He was working as Associate Professor in FAST-NUCES, Islamabad Campus, and Assistant Professor in KFUPM Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience of Industry (IT, Enterprise, Manufacturing & Finance), worked in Canada, UK and Saudi Arabia. His areas of research are Databases, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Enterprise Systems, Information Systems and Software Applications Architecture. His publications include top high level international conferences, impact factor journals, industrial and research projects, books, and teaching graduate and undergraduate computing courses. He has expert level experience in developing, implementing many commercial software applications (ERP-Oracle/ SAP, Web) in enterprise domains of Financial & Taxation, Healthcare, Oil exploration and Pharmaceutical. Recently, being IT Director/ Project Manager, he has developed the Student Academic Record System, OBE for FAST-NUCES. 

Dr. Muhammad Nouman Noor joined Fast-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Islamabad as an Assistant Professor in 2024. He has an overall job experience (industry + academia) of around 10 years at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Leveraging over a total of 10 years of experience with 5 years of software industry experience, including diverse project contributions, the focus has seamlessly transitioned to academia, accumulating 5 years of experience in teaching, research, and mentorship. He has more than multiple research publications in journals and conferences of international repute, as well as book chapters, reflecting expertise in computer vision, deep learning, digital image processing, and related domains. He is currently serving as a reviewer in multiple international impact factored journals.

Dr Asif Muhammad embarked on his academic journey by earning a BS degree in Computer Science from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University in 2003, laying the foundation for his future academic and professional endeavours. He continued to advance his skills by completing an MS in Software Engineering at the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology in 2009. In 2011, Asif achieved a PMBA degree, showcasing his dedication to merging technical expertise with business acumen. His relentless pursuit of knowledge culminated in a PhD in Computer Science in 2023 from the Capital University of Science and Technology.

Dr Asif has not only excelled academically but has also established himself in the professional world. His career includes roles as a lecturer at COMSATS University Islamabad, in addition to key positions such as Team Lead at Exotic Solutions and Senior Software Engineer at various software development companies. In addition to his educational and professional achievements, Dr Asif Muhammad actively contributes to the field of computer science through an array of publications. His commitment to education and technology is further reflected in his professional memberships. Shahela Saif is a researcher and instructor in the field of Computer vision and Software Engineering. She received her M.S. degree in Computer Software Engineering from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) Pakistan and is currently doing her Ph.D. She has been associated with academia for over 12 years. Her research interests include computer vision, machine learning, and image and video analysis. Her recent research works have been in the field of image and video forensics. 

Mr. Jawad Hassan Nisar is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (Fast-NU), Islamabad, Pakistan. He started his  career with NUCES and worked as Research Officer/Lab instructor and Lecturer also.  His interests are Computer Communications and Networks.

M. Faisal Cheema received his Ph.D. degree in Information Visualization from Leipzig University, Germany in 2017. He joined FAST-NUCES as an Assistant Professor in August 2019.

His main area of research includes Data and Information visualization, visual analytics, machine learning, and Human-Computer Interaction.

Dr. Muhammad Bilal is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad Campus, Pakistan. He has postdoctoral experience from the University of Florida, USA. Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer at Sunway University’s School of Engineering and Technology and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southampton Malaysia. He also held positions as an Assistant Professor and Incharge in the Department of Software Engineering at FAST NUCES, Chiniot-Faisalabad (CFD) Campus, Pakistan. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Tutor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Taylor’s University in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, for three years. He has more than four years of experience as a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan. Additionally, he gained practical experience as a Software Developer at Sofizar in Lahore.
Dr. Bilal earned his Ph.D. degree from Taylor’s University, Subang Jaya, Malaysia, and received a MS degree from COMSATS University Islamabad, Islamabad, Pakistan, as well as a BS degree with Distinction (Bronze Medal) from the University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan. He was awarded the Taylor’s Ph.D. Scholarship from 2018 to 2021 and has authored and co-authored several journal and conference research papers. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including natural language processing, data mining, social computing, machine learning, information processing, social media data analytics, and software engineering. Dr. Bilal has also been granted a Faculty Research Support Grant for his project titled “Detecting Mis/Disinformation and Reducing Information Overload in Social Media Platforms Using Machine Learning.

Mr. Junaid Ali joined NUCES in 2024 as a faculty member. He did his Masters in Computer Science back in 2018. His major work includes Mobile/Web/DevOps technologies. His research interests are in the areas of AI, Machine/Deep Learning & AR/VR. 

Ms. Urooj Ghani is working as an instructor in the department of computing FAST-NUCES. Previously, she was working as a Teacher Assistant in International Islamic University, Islamabad. She has done BS in Software Engineering from International Islamic University, Islamabad. Currently, she is doing MS in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES. Her research areas include Machine Learning, User Experience Engineering and Computer Networks.

I have done bachelors from FAST NUCES Islamabad in 2015 and MASTERS from the same institute in 2018. I have been teaching in FAST NUCES Islamabad since 2015, previously as Lab Instructor and now as Lecturer.

Mr. Shams Farooq  joined FAST-NUCES as a Lecturar and he has  6 years of teaching experience and 6 years of industrial experience as Test Engineer at S2S electronics, UK. Research interest are Embedded systems and Realtime systems.

Ayesha Joined NUCES as Lab Instructor, her research interests are Machine learning and Big Data.

Ms. Shehr Bano joined NUCES Islamabad Campus in January 2019. She did her B.S in Computer Science from International Islamic University. Her areas of interest are Machine Learning, Computer Networks, and Big data Analytics.

My doctoral dissertation is on drift detector design for the cloud computing domains under consultation with Dr. Seemab Latif & Dr. Asad Waqar.  I have worked as a Lecturer at RIPHAH for the last five years. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing the NCEAC Audit, OBE-based Course design, Examination, Tarbeeha Mentoring, and FYP was my top priority.  I was a member of Distributed & Cloud Computing Research Group (DCCR) in 2016. Also, Research Member in China-Pakistan Intelligent Systems (CPInS) Lab, NUST. 

Mr. Muhammad Almas Khan joined NUCES-FAST, Islamabad in January 2023, previously he was an Mphill scholar in computer science at Quaid i Azam University Islamabad. He is recently conferred with the best paper winning award at an international conference. Having research interest in (but not limited to) Internet of Things (IoT) security and enough knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and other advanced courses in the same area,
the research topic is open in computer science on any topic.

As a data scientist, my expertise lies in utilizing statistical and computational techniques to extract insights from complex and large datasets. With a strong foundation in machine learning, data mining, and programming, I am adept at cleaning and transforming data, creating models, and using data visualization to communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences. I possess a strong background in natural language processing (NLP), big data analytics (BDA), and machine learning (ML) techniques. My expertise lies in using these methodologies to extract valuable insights from complex and vast datasets.Overall, my passion for data science, combined with my technical proficiency in NLP, BDA, and ML, make me a valuable asset to any organization seeking to unlock the potential of their data to drive innovation and growth.

Ms. Saira Qamar is serving as a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence  & Data Science department at  National University of Computing and Emerging Sciences . She did MSCS from National University of Computing and Emerging Sciences in 2019 with the research topic ” Realtionship Identification Using Emotion Analysis”. Her Research intrest inlcudes Artificial Intelligence,  Machine Learning and Social Sciences.    

I am currently working as a Lecturer at FAST, School of Computing. I completed my MS Data Science in January, 2025, with my thesis focused on proposing a novel architecture for machine unlearning in language models. My research interests include Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning,  Machine Unlearning and  Generative AI.

Mr. Zaheer Sani joined NUCES-FAST, Islamabad in November 2022 as a Lecturer. Previously, he served at COMSATS University Islamabad for 11 years.
He has expertise in Microsoft .Net, Mobile, Web and Desktop App Development, LAMP Stack, React Native, MEAN and MERN Stack, Python Stack, Databases, AWS and Azure Cloud, DevOps, Git, Project Management.

Shahbaz Hassan is a PhD scholar and an experienced lecturer with more than five years of research and teaching experience at a prestigious institute in Pakistan [Riphah International University, Islamabad Campus]. Usama is serving as a lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad. Aqib Rehman received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2015 with distinction of Gold Medal. He got his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2018 and scored 80% marks in his research work. His Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in the area of Machine Learning is in progress from Foundation University Islamabad, Pakistan. From 2019 to 2023, he served with Foundation University Rawalpindi Campus, where he worked as a Lecturer. In his tenure he got 90%+ score in number odf semesters. His main research interests include Software Testing, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He also worked as a team member of Journal committee of “Foundation University Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences”. Currently he is lecturer at National Unversity from year 2023.

Mr. Zahoor ul Hassan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with high distinction from the Capital University of Science and Technology. Specializing in Wireless Communication,  has a strong background in cutting-edge networking technologies With a passion for research and teaching, Mr. Zahoor is now part of the esteemed faculty at FAST National University, where they aim to contribute to the academic and professional development of students.

Ms. Maryam Khalid joined FAST-NUCES, Islamabad, as a Lab Instructor in the Department of Computer Science in January 2025. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES, Islamabad, in 2024.
Her Final Year Project, titled “Automated Authentication of Quranic Verses Using BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers)-Based Language Models,” focused on developing an automated system to verify and authenticate Quranic verses and distinguish them from fabricated ones. Her research paper is also published in the prestigious International Conference COLING 2025. Her areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Data Science.

Muhammad Talha Sharif is an instructor at FAST-NUCES, Islamabad. He has 1.5 years of experience as an AI Engineer, specializing in NLP and Generative AI. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from COMSATS University. His research interests include Natural Language Processing, AI-driven automation and human-like decision-making models.

I graduated in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES in 2023 (Batch’19). I joined FAST-NUCES in August 2023 as an Instructor.

Syed Daniyal Hussain Shah is an instructor at Fast-Nuces. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, earning both the Campus Gold Medal and the Institute Gold Medal for academic excellence. Currently, he is pursuing MS in Artificial Intelligence from FAST-NUCES.

Mr. Abdul Hammad Rasheed joined FAST-NUCES in August 2023 as a Lab Instructor. He did his bachelor’s in computer science from FAST-NUCES (Batch 19). Previously, he worked as a teacher assistant at FAST NUCES for 3 years. Currently, he is doing master’s in data science from FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus.

Ms. Neelofar Niazi is an experienced academic professional with an MBA and over nine years of progressive experience in university administration and coordination. She has served in multiple key roles, including Admissions Officer and National and International Events/project Manager, where she demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Currently working at FAST-NUCES Islamabad, Ms. Neelofar actively contributes to the coordination and administrative operations of the School of Computing . Mr. Baber Shahzad joined Department of Computer Science, FAST-NUCES Islamabad as Assistant Academic Officer.

Muhammad Usman Tariq is a well-qualified professional with 10 years’ work experience as an Assistant Examinations and Student Coordinator at Jinnah Institute. Dr. Naveed Ahmad received his Ph.D. degree in engineering design from the University of Cambridge in 2011. He joined FAST-NUCES on January 2019 as Professor. He has been associated with academia for past 13 years. His main area of research includes modelling and simulation, understanding the behavior of complex systems, information systems and security, software engineering and Human- Computer Interaction (User experience).Department of Computer Science. .

Dr Muhammad Asim is an Professor at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan. Having attained a Ph.D. from Liverpool John Moores University, he researches in the fields of Cyber Security,  Computer Networks, Network Security, and Internet of Things.  His research is not only academically focused but worked on various research issues in collaboration with industrial partners such as SAP, THALES, SINTEF, CNR across the EU.

Dr. Qaisar Shafi received his Ph.D & M.S. degree in Information Security from the National University of Sciences and Technology(NUST). He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science in National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES-FAST), Islamabad campus. He has more than 12 years of experience in both academics and research. He has been leading the Department of Computer Science in SS CASE IT.  He has the experience of leading and establishing research labs, Moreover he has also won a funded project from a funded agency in the field of cyber security. Zafar Iqbal received his Ph.D. degree from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, in 2020, in the domain of automated analysis of cybersecurity threats. Dr. Iqbal has worked as a team lead at the National Cyber Security Auditing and Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL). Additionally, he has previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cyber Security at Air University, Islamabad. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cyber Security at FAST-NUCES, Islamabad, Pakistan. He has also served as a reviewer for various IEEE conferences and journals. His research interests include the security of autonomous vehicles, smart cities, advanced persistent threats (APTs), threat modeling, Android security, malware analysis, and MANETs.

Dr. Subhan Ullah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cybersecurity at the FAST School of Computing, FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science/IT in April 2019 from the University of Klagenfurt, Austria, in collaboration with the University of Genoa, Italy, under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Program for Interactive and Cognitive Environments (EMJD-ICE). As a recipient of the European Union IDEAS scholarship, Dr. Subhan also completed two semesters of the Joint International Master (JIM) in Computer
Science at the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany, in December 2014. He holds an MS in Computer Science from the International Islamic University Islamabad (March 2013) and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Malakand, Pakistan (August 2008).
His current research interest include lightweight cryptographic solutions for data security and ML based techniques for intrusion detection in Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Dr. Labiba Fahad  is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan. She done  her PhD from City, University of London, UK. Her M.S. in Computer System Engineering is from GIKI, Pakistan. Prior to joining FAST- NU, she had been serving in NUST since 2007. Her research interests include activity recognition in smart homes, pervasive computing, pattern recognition and machine learning. Dr. M. Ishtiaq joined the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NU) in 2022. Prior to joining FAST-NU, he has served, Foundation University Islamabad, COMSATS University Islamabad, and Kwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Gwangju, South Korea.
His research interests include digital watermarking and multimedia forensics.

Dr. Imran Ashraf has 15+ years of research and development experience working in leading national and international academia and industry. Imran has an accumulative 80+ impact factor and published 70+ research articles.

During his BS studies, Imran secured 2nd position in his batch at the university level and obtained a silver medal for his FYP. In 2009, Imran got a Top Talent scholarship from TU Delft (The Netherlands), for Master studies in Embedded Systems. After MSc, Imran joined the Computer Engineering Lab, TU Delft, to pursue his PhD funded by Euorpean Projects (SMECY, EMC2). This research focused on various aspects of HPC such as profiling, parallelization, and communication-driven application mapping on embedded and HPC platforms. He designed and developed a tool that was utilized to perform efficient application mapping on conventional accelerators (GPU and FPGA), as well as for the design flow of unconventional in-memory computation architectures.

As a post-doctoral researcher, Imran worked on an Intel-funded project in the team of Prof. Koen Bertels focusing on the definition of a scalable architecture for executing quantum circuits. He has worked on various aspects of software stack, especially, compilation and high-performance simulation of quantum circuits. Imran was leading the development team of the CE lab at QUTECH, TU Delft, for the development of various tools related to Quantum simulation and compilation. The developed compiler was used for two annual Intel demos to generate code for architecture targeting superconducting and spin qubits. After coming back to Pakistan in 2018, Imran has been serving in the academia where he was involved in the design and development of undergraduate and graduate courses, CPD trainings, teaching, research and various administrative tasks. Currently, Imran is working as an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department, NUCES-FAST, Islamabad.

Dr. Danish Shehzad is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad Campus. Prior to that he worked as an Associate Professor and Quality Head at Superior University, Gold Campus, Lahore and as an Assistant Professor at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Chiniot-Faisalabad Campus. His doctoral research work was funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TÜBITAK). His areas of research interest include Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, Cryptography, Steganography, Wireless Networks Security, Smart Cities, Blockchain, and IoT.

Dr Syed Qaise Ali Shah joined the School of Computing as an Assistant Professor. He obtained his PhD from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila in 2022. His research interests include Blockchain, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing and IoT, Wired and Wireless Network.

Dr. Noshina Tariq is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences and an HEC-approved supervisor specializing in cybersecurity, AI, IoT security, and blockchain. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science, she has led funded research projects, published extensively in high-impact journals, and supervised MS and Ph.D. students. Her expertise includes machine learning, malware detection, federated learning, and digital forensics. A peer reviewer and conference chair, she actively contributes to cutting-edge security research in smart grids, industrial networks, and healthcare IoT.

Sana Aurangzeb received her MS degree in Computer Science from Capital University of Science and Technology in 2018. She is currently doing a Ph.D. at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan, and is currently a lecturer at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her research focus is malware analysis and security services

Dr. Adnan Tariq has many years of diversified professional experience within Pakistan and Europe as researcher, software engineer and technical lead both in industrial and academic settings. He has experience of leading research projects in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), mobile and pervasive computing, geo-distributed fog & cloud computing and Software-defined Networking (SDN) with focus on scalability, quality of service (QoS), fault tolerance and security aspects. Formerly Dr. Adnan served as a senior researcher at the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems (IPVS) of University of Stuttgart, where he was leading the “Self-Organizing Software Systems” and “Adaptive Communication Systems” project divisions of the Distributed Systems Department. During that time, he also served as the technical manager and coordinator of 2.9 million Euros project “ALLOW Ensembles” funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework program with a consortium of six European research institutes. Dr. Adnan has contributed more than 30 scientific publications at highly selective peer-reviewed venues including IEEE ICDCS, ACM/USENIX Middleware, IEEE SCC, ACM DEBS and IEEE/ACM Transactions.

Ms. Hina Binte Haq joined the School of Computing as Lecturer. Her research instrest includes Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, Cryptography, Machine learning, Election Security.

Ms. Humera Sabir is working as an Instructor in the Department of Computing.She has 1.5 year of industrial experience as a full stack developer. She has expertise in Cross-platform mobile app development and various web development frameworks.Currently She is doing her Masters in Data Science.

Her research interests includes Big Data, Graph Data mining, Data warehousing and Data Mining.

Mr. Mehmood ul Hassan joined FAST-NUCES, Islamabad in January 2023, previously he was lecturer at Air University, Islamabad. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Information security from MCS, NUST. He is an active member of Metaverse Standards Forum (MSF). He conducted multiple national and local workshops, internships, and seminars. His research interest includes applied cryptography, digital forensics, metaverse security and privacy, authentication, and privacy preservation protocols.

Dynamic and results-oriented Computer Science graduated with a strong academic foundation, earned distinction in BSCS from the University of Sargodha and a Gold Medal in MPhil in Computer Science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Proficient in full-stack and Android app development, with a portfolio of over 30 completed projects. Skilled in a variety of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Django, Flask, and PHP, as well as Python for AI, and  Java, Kotlin for Android development.
Demonstrated research expertise in advanced areas such as federated machine learning, deep neural networks, and blockchain applications. Key contributions include the development of COVID-19 prediction models, facial emotion detection systems, and improvements in vehicular network security. Conducted significant research under the title “UAVs and Blockchain Synergy: Enabling Secure Reputation-Based Federated Machine Learning in Smart Cities,” which focuses on integrating UAVs and blockchain technology through edge-aided federated machine learning to enhance security and efficiency in smart city environments.
Additionally, contributed to academic institutions by teaching and assisting in computer science courses at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad and SZABIST University Islamabad. Fahad Waheed graduated from FAST NUCES Islamabad in 2024 with a BS in Cyber Security, graduating at the top of his class. His research interests focus on Computer Networks and Zero Trust Network Access. He is currently working in the areas of Generative AI, Digital Forensics, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Mr. Muhammad Suleman Saboor completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from bahria university Islamabad and doing masters in cyber security from FAST NUCES Islamabad. He started as an instructor at FAST NUCES in January 2024. He formerly worked as a web developer at TheArdor Australian company. Additionally, he gained valuable experience as a visiting Lab Instructor at Bahria, Szabist for about 2 years. His fields of interest are computer networking, blockchain, user experience engineering, metaverse, web security, Dos and DDos.

Dr. Uzair Khan has been teaching at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences as a associate professor since July 2011. He received his PhD degree from University of Nice, Sophia Antipolis, France for the research work he carried out at “institut national de la recherche informatique et automatique” (INRIA). Dr. Uzair has extensive expertise and experience in Automated Software Testing, Quality Engineering of Mission and Safety Critical Systems and Model Driven Engineering. He is actively involved in projects of national significance in particular in the domain of avionics software systems with Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.  Dr. Uzair is the Principal Investigator of  IGNITE funded project “Automated Generation and Testing of Mobile Application Variants”  (2017 – 2019) and is  the Co-Principal Investigator of GNITE Fund project “An integrated toolset for automated model based testing of industrial scale software” (2013-2015).  He is also a Co-PI of UAV Dependability Lab, set up as part of National Center for Robotics and Automation. Dr. Khubaib joined School of Computing Islamabad Campus as an Assistant professor. His research interests span Software engineering and Operations research especially in how to construct, maintain, evolve, improve/debug, and assure high-quality software systems. Improving software process activities through Operations research techniques is of his peculiar interest.

Received Ph.D. (CS) degree from COMSATS University Islamabad in 2022. Have joined FAST-NUCES as Assistant Professor in January 2023. Have been associated with academia for past 10 years. Main areas of interest include software engeering, software project management, software scope management, project planning and Human Computer Interaction (HCI).

Ms. Uzma is a PEC recognized Software Engineer with the PEC number COMP/12857. She has done MS in Software Engineering from Riphah International University, Islamabad. She is currently working as a Lecturer in the department of Computer Sciences at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. 

Prior to joining NUCES, Ms. Uzma was working as a Lecturer at SZABIST, Islamabad. She has also worked as a Lecturer at University of Gujrat (Sub campus in Rawalpindi). Other than academics, she has worked as a Software engineer at Softronix, Rawalpindi, having the responsibilities of both back-end and front-end software development. She has been certified with different certifications including workshops held by PEC in different knowledge areas.  Her research work is carried in the field of Cloud Computing targeting Cost aware resource selection in IaaS clouds and Services Composition. 

Dr. Atif Jilani is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (Fast-NU), Islamabad, Pakistan. He is also a lead scientist at QUEST Lab, a leading software engineering lab in Pakistan. Dr. Jilani is the recipient of  Rs ~100 Million grant from HEC for the establishment of UAV Dependability lab as a part of National Centre of Robotics and Automation (NCRA). He is actively engaged in projects related to development of safety critical systems, including avionics systems of aircrafts and UAVs and radars. He has been involved in development of software testing tools and techniques for airborne software systems. He is also an expert in the area of Model-driven engineering of avionics systems, for example using Arcadia method and model transformations of such models. His research interests include model-driven engineering particularly model transformation, model base testing, search-based software engineering, software testing, empirical software engineering and software & System modeling of avionics systems.

Ms. Javaria joined the School of Computing as Lecturer. Her research interest includes Web Test Automation, Test Case Evolution, Security Testing, Empirical Software Engineering and Software Quality Assurance. I have extensive expertise and experience in full-stack web application development and testing. I also have hands-on experience in Model-Driven Software Development.

Saba Kanwal joined FAST, NUCES islamabad as Lab Instructor in 2019. She is graduated in Software Engineering from MUST in 2018. Currently she is doing MS in Software Engineering from FAST, NUCES Islamabad.

Ms. Sidra Khalid has been teaching at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences as a lecture since Jan 2018.  Before joining NUCES, she was working as a software project manager in BPLIT(Rawalpindi). She has earned 10 years of software development experience from software industry in healthcare and financial domain. She has held positions as an Assistant Project Manager & Senior Software Engineer at CureMD, Lahore and Software Engineer at Strategic Systems International(SSI) Lahore. She has practical experience of waterfall, iterative, agile and scrum software development methodologies for successful completion of multiple projects. She had worked with Punjab Livestock department for the implementation of their performance and monitoring system. For the healthcare sector, she had worked on the oncology EMR which helps oncologists to diagnose cancer stage, make cancer treatment plan and track chemotherapy administration.

Her area of interests is Software Engineering, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Development, Compilers & Translators and IoT based solutions.

Laiba Imran is serving as a lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering at FAST-NUCES. She completed her BS in Computer Science (2022) and MS in Software Engineering (2024) from the same institution. After completing her BS, she served as an instructor for one and a half year years before being appointed as a lecturer. Her expertise lies in web development using MERN and Spring Boot, DevOps, and a strong foundation in Programming Fundamentals (PF), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Data Structures (DS).

Nigar Azhar Butt is a Lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NU), Islamabad, Pakistan, and a PhD scholar at the UAV Dependability Lab. With an MS in Software Engineering (2020), her research spans Machine Learning, Software Quality Assurance, and Model-Based Testing. She specializes in End-to-End Test Automation and the development of AI-driven techniques for automated testing of complex interactive systems, including video games and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

A recent Computer Science graduate from FAST NUCES Islamabad, I have gained practical experience by working in two tech companies. As a Web Developer at JEWAM Digital Solution, I have gained practical expereince by contributing in different on going companies projects. At Zong CMPak, I contributed to the LDI and IB Department, further enhancing my technical and analytical capabilities.

Ali Hamza graduated with a BS in Software Engineering from FAST NUCES in 2024. He has worked as a Teaching Assistant and completed various projects, including FAST SocietEase and an E-Voting System. Proficient in web and mobile development, Ali’s skills include Node.js, React, Java, and Python. He has also been recognized on the Dean’s List and awarded a Bronze Medal for academic excellence

Ms Palwasha Zahid completed her Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad securing 3.92 CGPA.  She’s passionate about Software Requirement Engineering, Software Project Management, Software Testing & Quality Engineering, and User Experience Engineering. Additionally, she gained valuable experience as a Lab Assistant at CUST for about 1.5 year.

Dr. Usman Habib currently serves as Professor and Head of the Software Department at the FAST School of Computing, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan. Before joining the FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, he held positions at several renowned institutions in Pakistan, including Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), FAST-NUCES (Chiniot-Faisalabad and Peshawar campuses), and COMSATS University (Abbottabad Campus). He also served as the Head of the Computer Science Department at FAST-NUCES, Chiniot-Faisalabad Campus. With over fifteen years of teaching and research experience spanning from 2006 to the present, Dr. Habib has made significant contributions to academia and industry. In addition to his academic roles, he has successfully completed various industrial projects, including the “eXtract” project, funded by an Austrian funding agency under the e!MISSION program.
Dr. Usman regularly publishes his research in reputable conferences and journals. He is actively involved in conference management and has served as the Program Chair for the International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET) in 2019 and 2022, as well as the International Conference on IT and Industrial Technologies (ICIT) in 2022-2023 and general chair for ICIT 2024. He has also been an active member of the organizing committee for the Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT) conference series for several years.
Dr. Habib achieved outstanding academic performance during his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan, earning a Gold Medal for the Spring 2006 session. He completed his Master’s degree at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, in 2008, with full funding from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. His master’s thesis was supervised by Dr. Do Van Thanh in collaboration with Telenor R&I and Ubisafe Norway.
Dr. Usman earned his PhD from the ICT Department at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, where he focused on research related to “Automated Fault Detection and Diagnosis in Building Data.” His PhD was also fully funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and conducted in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Vienna, Austria. Mr.Shujaat Hussain has over 10 years of research, teaching and industry experience in an academic institutes and reputed companies in Korea, Pakistan and UK. He has industry experience as a software engineer and as a research associate at Kyung Hee University, Suwon South Korea. He has several publications in the form of patents, journals, and conferences, including some research works currently in progress/review. His research interests are Big data, Distributed Systems, Health Informatics and Health Wellness.

Uzair Iqbal analyzed ECG data streams to identify the correlation between multiple heart diseases  using model-driven deep deterministic learning. He completed his PhD in computer sciences from university of Malaya, Malaysia. He worked on the research project of feature analysis of ECG that related to behavioral analysis of different cardiovascular diseases and anomalies in ECG. He received his Masters of Software Engineering from University of Engineering &Technology, Taxila Pakistan in 2015 and Bachelors of Software Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology, Taxila Pakistan in 2009. Currently, he is working as a  Assistant professor in Department of Artifical Intelligence and Data Science, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Islamabad. Pakistan.

Moreover, he is an active member in research community of Institute for Systems and Technologies  of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC).Additionally, he is active member of European
 Society Cardiology(ESC).

Zeshan did his PhD from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES). His research expertise lies in medical image analysis, particularly focused on gastrointestinal tract abnormalities using state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning techniques. He has honed his teaching skills across diverse academic settings, including Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Riphah International University, and various NUCES campuses. Before transitioning into academia, Zeshan worked as a backend developer, where he developed web applications, data-gathering bots, and implemented SEO/SMO strategies. This experience provided him with a strong understanding of the practical impact of technology on real-world applications. In his academic career, Zeshan has actively participated in Higher Education Commission (HEC)-funded projects, where he gained valuable experience in research collaboration, project management, and the development of advanced algorithms, particularly those that are energy-efficient and deployable on low-power devices. His work in this area extends to multiple BS final year projects and research papers that focus on resource-efficient machine learning techniques. His current role allows him to further expand his research, contribute to the academic community, and collaborate on cutting-edge technology projects. 

Ms. Noor-ul-Ain is working as an assistant professor at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. Her areas of research interests are Image Processing (particularly Medical Image processing), Computer Vision, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality,  Machine Learning, and Bio Informatics.

Ms. Sana Razzaq completed her bachelor’s degree in computer science from capital university of science and technology Islamabad securing 3.98 CGPA and a gold medal. My major subjects were data science and machine learning. My FYP entitled “Coronary artery disease detection using machine learning algorithms”.

Parisa graduated from FAST-NUCES in 2019. Her Research interests include Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision using Deep Learning.

Ms. Kainat Iqbal joined  FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Science Islamabad in January 2019. She is working as a Lecturer in the Department of AI & DS. Her areas of interest includes Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Data Science.

Nirmal Tariq joined NUCES, FAST in January 2023 as a Lecturer in Department of Computer Science. Prior joining FAST, she has worked in academia for 6 years. She is currently enrolled in PhD program in SEECS, NUST, Islamabad. Her research interests are machine learning, deep learning and Network security.

Mr. Muhammad Sohail Abbas is a Lecturer at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. His research interests lie in the fields of computer vision for medical applications and visual surveillance.

Ms. Umarah Qaseem is a Lecturer at the department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, FAST-NUCES, Islamabad. Previously she served at Bahria University Islamabad for 8 years. She was one of the pioneers in founding the center of Excellence of Artificial Intelligence there. She established the Robotics lab in its intelligent systems chapter. She was also given the award of Best Supervisor in 2022. She worked for two years as a machine learning engineer on an industrial project with NUST, which is deployed in a textile factory in Lahore. She was selected by Google for “Machine Learning Train-the-trainer bootcamp” in 2019 and she was the Google’s Official Facilitator for Google’s Accelerators Community for the year 2020-2021 in Pakistan. Her research interests include Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Image Processing, Speech Recognition, Intelligent Systems, Automation of Systems, Textile Quality Assurance & Algorithm Design and Optimization. She is a multi-talented and energetic person with a Black belt degree in Ninjutsu Martial Arts and a Blue belt in Judo. She also carries several gold medals in the provincial championships.

I am Kanza Hamid, currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of AI & DS, School of Computing. As a computer scientist, my core areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, and Medical Image Processing. Before joining NU, I served around 6 years in Comsats Lahore where I taught Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Operating System, Computer Graphics & Computer Programming.

Ms. Laiba Noor joined FAST-NUCES Islamabad as a Lab Instructor in Fast School of Computing in  January 2025 . She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES Islamabad, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning ,Data Science and DevOps. 
Previously, she worked as a Visiting Lab Instructor at the FAST School of Management (FSM) . Her Final Year Project (FYP), “WeCare: A SaaS-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) System”, integrated AI-driven diagnostic suggestions, utilizing the MERN stack, Flask, and AWS.

Ms Mehreen Alam has been associated with NUCES since 2007. She is also pursuing her PhD from here and her areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing. Her work is mainly targeted on exploring and developing solutions to seamlessly integrate Urdu into the technology fabric. 

Mr. Mohsin Khan is a Lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Islamabad. He received his MS in Computer Science from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) in 2020, graduating with highest distinction. Mr. Khan joined FAST-NUCES as a Lecturer in September 2024. His primary research interests include multiview learning, large language models, medical AI, and hybrid and ensemble learning.

Mr Adil Majeed joined FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Science Islamabad in August 2022. He is working as a lecturer at NUCES Islamabad. His areas of research interest are Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Mr. Adil Majeed has been awarded with Silver Medal from FAST-NUCES, Islamabad for his postgraduate studies.

Ms. Rabail Zahid is working as an Lecturer at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences since 2024 in the Department of Computer Science. Additionally, she is also pursuing her PhD from here. Dr. Amna Basharat is an Assistant Prfessor in the department of Computer science . She has research interests in the areas of “Supporting New Ways Of Teaching And Learning Through An Adaptive E-Learning Framework.” E-Learning and Distance Education Conference, Learning in the new Millennium. She is actively involved in research in these areas.

I am a Lecturer and Senior Game Developer with experience of working both in Industry and Academia. I have served in industry as a Senior Game Developer and Team Lead for about 5 years. I have been serving in Academia since 2020 teaching Core Computing and Game Development Courses. My areas of interest are Game Design and Development ,VR, AR,UI/UX, Reinforcement Learning.

Dr. Kashif Munir joined NUCES-FAST, Islamabad in January 2002. Previously, he was a software engineer at Advanced Engineering Research Organization, Islamabad. He did 2-year post doctorate at IMT Atlantique (formerly known as Telecom Bretagne), Rennes campus, France in 2011-2012. His areas of interest are computer networks, high-performance parallel computing, and performance evaluation (simulation and analytical modeling).

Dr. Muhammad Aleem joined NUCES-FAST, Islamabad in August 2019 as an Associate Professor. Previously, he has been working at Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad as Associate Professor. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing comprise programming environments, multi-/many-core computing, performance analysis, Cloud computing, Fog/Edge computing, and big-data processing.

Dr. Fehmida Usmani joined NUCES, Islamabad in August 2024 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to this, she was part of the OptCom Research Group at Politecnico di Torino, where she worked from 2022 to 2024. She has been workining at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & IT as a lecturer. She has won several honors and awards, among which the Corning Women in Optical Communications award is the most prominent. This prestigious award was given by Optica, formerly known as the Optical Society of America. Her area of interest are Software defined networks, Optical Communication Networks and Machine Learning.

Mr. Bilal Khalid Dar joined FAST, Islamabad in 2019 as Lecturer Previously, he was serving as an Instructor at FAST Islamabad. He has been teaching since 2017. Previously, He has worked as the Software Engineer at 4boxSol Islamabad.  He has participated and won many projects and programming competition (EXcite Cup 2016, FITT 2016). His area of interest are Human-Computer Interface, Requirement Engineering, Software Testing, Software Costing and Estimation, and Fog Computing.
